North American QSO Party (NAQP) RTTY
Denny KC8RPV, Dave K8DV, Carl N8DWN and Bill WS6K represented MARC in the NAQP RTTY contest. Band conditions were fair, a lot US and Canadian stations were on the air, I heard nothing out of Europe.
For me the highlight of the contest was Friday night when Carl N8DWN called me on the repeater and said he’d purchased a SignaLink and wanted to get on RTTY. He had no idea what was in store. We had him up and running by noon on Saturday and threw him into the contest. He seemed a little excited when it was over, me thinks we hooked another one.
Upcoming Contests
We plan to field MARC teams for two contests in March. Both start at 7:00 PM local time on Friday and run until 6:59 PM local on Sunday. That’s a 48 hour window for you to schedule a few minutes to get on the air. The team goal is to maximize the number of participants, making one QSO and submitting a log helps us meet the goal.
If you need logging software Denny KC8RPV, or I, can assist you with downloading and configuring N1MM Logger, the price is right — Its free.
2013 ARRL DX SSB
ARRL DX SSB starts at 0000 UTC, March 2 and run until 2359 UTC, March 3. Rules are on the ARRL web site.
During this contest US and Canadian stations only work DX stations.
Contact me via email, if you think you might operate and submit a log as I have to register the team prior to the contest.
If you submit a log the following line needs to be in the log header: CLUB: Milford (OH) ARC
CQ WPX SSB
CQ WPX SSB starts at 0000 UTC, March 30 and run until 2359 UTC, March 31. View the rules on the CQ WPX Contest Site
Everybody works everybody, call sign prefix’s are the multipliers.
CQ has changed the rules again, we no longer have to register the team prior to the contest, so if you find time, get on the air, make a few contacts and submit a log.
If you submit a log the following line needs to be in the log header: CLUB: Milford Amateur Radio Club.
73 and good hunting
Bill WS6K
