Top Ten Region W6-W7 (CA, NV, UT) |
Likewise, I'm ramping up my ferrite choke project for cabling inside the shack and other electromagnetic devices because it's time to clean up.
Morse Machine
On the other hand, an Advanced Electronic Applications (AEA) Incorporated, Morse Machine was installed between Bencher paddles and my Kenwood TS850S to automate continuous wave (CW) sending when competing against self in RadioSport. Additionally, the device checked out at W6AB yesterday afternoon as an interim step, until projects are designed for console automation.
The AEA Morse Machine is capable of sending CW between 2 to 99 words per minute while featuring an 8000 character memory to be stored in 20 memories. It can also be used as a Morse code trainer and beacon. Furthermore, all memory chips were upgraded and power requirement was subsequently reduced by 160 mA.
Normal power requirement for this device is 350mA at 12 volts.
I'm using an Enercell AC-to-DC power adapter with switchable DC range of 1.5 through 12 VDC at 300 mA and the power adapter included 6 tips for universal use.
Initial Survey
Furthermore, the club's KLM KT34A is a KLM KT34XA four element tri-bander and survey of antenna revealed nothing unusual. I was forewarned that this antenna is extremely difficult to work with from a mechanical perspective. However, as a teaching tool, it is probably one of the best to learn everything you always wanted to know about an antenna.
This antenna is one of two KLM KT34XA four element tri-banders being prepared.

KA3DRR Regional Rank Is 82nd |
I'm satisfied with my current 82nd position fulfilling my goal target of top 100 in the region. I wouldn't be there if it wasn't for my mentor W6SL who graciously opened the door into his shack. He is teaching me the greatest motivation is to compete against one's self.
