Good morning from #hamr shackadelic with a thick marine layer parking itself outside my sliding glass doors. The weekend weather forecast isn't going to tug on the conscious because rain is expected. It's ideal for time in the chair logging, chasing, and enjoying RadioSport fun during the CQ World Wide CQ WPX SSB event.

Our space weather is shaping up after another storm as HAARP's spectrum monitor shows trace signals as high as 22 MHz with an A-index of nine and K-index of four. The current sunspot count is indicative of Cycle 24 production numbers. Will weird propagation opportunities exist such as bent or skewed paths?

The word on the street is an equatorial path on 10m this weekend. Fifteen and 20m expected to provide the bulk of Q production. I'm most likely not going to play on the low bands perhaps 40m in the early evening?

Your prefix is the multiplier and owning a 2 x 3 call sign this weekend adds a few hundred watts to the signal. I'm hoping more 2 x 3 call signs are in the log this year! Likewise, I'm looking forward to participating in the live #cqwpx twitter stream as well.

Contest on!
