While the MARC Contester’s don’t have any contests scheduled for June there is a special event the weekend of June 1-2 that is a lot of fun to work. The event starts on Friday evening and runs until Sunday evening.
The Museum Ships Weekend Event has 90 ships scheduled to operate. Some stations are operating from the ships radio room, others are a field day type operation setup on, or adjacent, to the ship. Most are running low power.
We plan to run a spotting network on the MARC repeater. Check in with your spots.
Our goal is to put as many MARC members in the logs as possible. Last year two MARC members made the 2012 Top Operators List.
Rules, a list of ships and suggested operating frequencies can be found here.
While there are suggested operating frequencies you’ll find ships all over the band, so scan the bands.
Here’s an opportunity to dust off those operating skills prior to Field Day, you’ll be working a lot of weak stations with big pileups. On the other hand you might spin the dial and find one that is very lonely.
