Results for the 2013 CQ WPX RTTY Contest are available in the online July issue of CQ magazine. MARC members placed 4th and 9th in Call Area 8 low power category.

There are three events on the MARC Contest Calendar in August.

1. North American QSO Party (NAQP) SSB

NAQP SSB starts +Saturday. August 17 at 2:00 PM EDT and runs for 12 hours. Rules can be found on the National Contest Journal website.

If you want to be on a MARC team for NAQP SSB let me know by +9:00 PM EDT, Friday, August 16 as I have to register teams prior to the contest.

2. ARRL Rookie Roundup RTTY

Rookie Roundup RTTY starts Sunday, August 18 at 2:00 PM and runs for 6 hours. If your not a Rookie you can still operate and make contacts with Rookies to give them points.

You can determine if a station is a Rookie, or not, by their CQ message, provided they send it as specified in the rules.

Rules can be found on the ARRL website.

3. Ohio QSO Party

Last up is the Ohio QSO Party that runs from noon to midnight on Saturday, August 24, MARC will be making a club entry in OhQP.

OhQP provides a good opportunity for MARC station captains to become familiar with N1MM Logger and check out any antennas they plan to use at OSPOTA.

Another option to work OhQP is to go to the joint operation being run by WC8VOA.

There is nothing in the rules that prevents you from operating at the WC8VOA operation and also operating from home as part of the MARC team.

If you operate OhQP and want to add your score to the club total add the following line in your log. CLUB: Milford Ohio ARC

Logging Software

If you don’t already have logging software for these contests I suggest you download N1MM Logger, it’s free.

You’ll also need to download MMTTY if you plan to work the RTTY contest, again it’s free.

Denny or I can assist anyone that needs help downloading or setting up N1MM and MMTTY. We have a written procedure that’s available on request.
